Otherwise it all seems to sit on the block deck, if you put it on the threads of the stud and try to turn it in. The studs only go in fingure snug. Never had a leak. The outside of the seal deforms slightly and conforms to the tube and any small irregularities - that's why it's an interference fit. If it's driven in square, it won't leak. Seals are driven flush with the axle tube with an object of appropriate size. Even a block of wood works. Don't fret over the small stuff.
