Identity politics good or bad
WebIdentity politics becomes bad when political interests start largely overlapping with immutable group identity. Ex: if all white people were republicans and all Black people were democrats. This is because it raises the perceived cost of losing political power to the level of an existential threat to your group. WebIdentity politics groups people by classified characteristics such as race, religion, gender, sexual orientation etc. I feel it's done more damage than good. I'll back this up... identity politics finds a person at fault for not being the same as another group.
