Cracked 1911 slide
WebJun 28, 2007 · Pic below: After a range trip a few days back, I was cleaning the pistol and found something I should have found a few thousand rounds ago. There is a crack in the slide: As the pictures show, the crack is by the front lightening cut at the breech face. Upon close examination, it appears the NP3 finish is in the crack. WebMay 9, 2024 · The less the better. 2011's these days (depending on slide/rail/frame fit) can go quite awhile without cleaning and still function, that doesn't mean it's a best practice or optimal.
